Behind the Glass: Labor and Automation in the Gulf
Dimenssions: 14.8cm x 21cm
Essay

Drawing inspiration from the visionary concepts of Gulf futurism, this work explores our faith in technology’s ability to elevate humanity beyond nature’s constraints. It acts as a mirror to modern AI innovations, delving into the “black boxing” of progress, in which technology is presented as autonomous and self-sustaining, while obscuring the hidden labor, environmental costs, and power dynamics behind it. Through this, we face an ethical dilemma: Is technology a façade that hides human exploitation, while projecting an image of progress that nations and corporations do not truly possess?
