This piece was inspired by the artist's childhood dollhouse, which was crafted from a cardboard box cut out like a theater stage, where everything inside was flat. The flatness of the dollhouse reflects the lack of intimacy, emotional depth, and surface-level interactions the artist experienced. After many years, watching A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen revealed parallels between the play and the roles individuals play within family structures in contemporary society. The artist recognizes the struggle to transcend the predetermined paths of their scripted narratives. The dollhouse has come to symbolize women's negotiation of gendered social spaces, contrasting the home as a female-occupied private space with the male-dominated public spheres.
